The city's new seawater swimming lagoon is only 300 metres from Aquarius, as are its downtown convenience and duty free shops, boutiques and galleries, and the Reef Casino with its spectacular rooftop Rainforest Dome.
The Marlin jetty, departure point for many reef tours, is 350m away. From the Marlin Jetty or Trinity Wharf, the reef and offshore islands can be reached in just 45 minutes by fast catamaran or a leisurely two hours by sailing yacht.
Slightly longer walk of 600m takes you through a modern shopping complex - Cairns Central - to the railway station, starting point of the famous Kuranda train ride.
For adventures further afield - to the picturesque northern beaches, for example, or the jungle-edged walk to the awesome Barron Gorge - the local bus service passes our front door, or hire cars are readily available.
