It has to be said, public transport in Far North Queensland is not going to take you everywhere. To make the most of your holiday and discover as much as you can, it is probably better to rent a car. However, most of the tour operators, cruises and other attractions, along with private shuttle companies, offer transfers from your accommodation, which makes getting around far easier.

The Trans North Bus & Coach service has fully established depots in Ingham, Innisfail, Mission Beach, Ravenshoe and Cairns. They offer daily transfers between Cairns and Kuranda and the Tablelands. Ph: +61 (0)7 4061 7944

Once again, however, you are better off visiting the Tablelands with a rental car or with a organised tour.
