Cairns is the most popular destination of Far North Queensland. Here it is all about the excitement of a city life combined with a holiday atmosphere. You’ll encounter great shopping, international restaurants, museums, galleries, attractions, animated nightlife, and much more. If you want to enjoy the beach you’ll have to travel to the nearby Northern Beaches, including Holloways Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Trinity Beach, Clifton Beach, and Palm Cove. Trendy and friendly, they offer a good alternative for people who want to escape the city’s energy without giving up all the facilities.
Up in the Cairn’s highlands, but still extremely easy to access, is Kuranda. You can get here from Cairns on the Kuranda Scenic Railway or the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, and it is well worth visiting.
