>> An Introduction To Mossman
Mossman is a very typical North Queensland country town. It is a charming regional centre for the surrounding sugar cane industry, and has a distinctly rural feel with a lush green background of surrounding vegetation.
If you want to see older style North Queensland architecture, try driving down a few of the back roads in Mossman itself.
The highlight of the area is Mossman Gorge; traditionally home of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people. The Gorge is an absolutely stunning site and is a very accessible section of the Daintree National Park. Venture on the suspension bridge across the river, and see the river tumbling over the huge granite boulders.
Nearby Mossman, you can also enjoy a golf course and further east the pristine and quiet Newell Beach.
